Venice Biennale: Golden Lion for climate-resilient architecture

The Golden Lion for the best national contribution at the 2025 Architecture Biennale in Venice was awarded to the Bahrain Pavilion – a project focused on heat-adapted architecture with original contributions from Professor Alexander Puzrin. In total, five projects involving the Department of Civil, Environmental, and Geomatic Engineering at ETH Zurich are on display at the Venice Biennale. They illustrate how research and technology can pave new ways for sustainable construction.
Marie Perrin receives Young Inventors Prize "World builder"

The French-American chemist Marie Perrin has been selected as one of the ten finalists for the European Patent Office’s Young Inventors Prize 2025. She received the prize in the category "World builder". Her innovation enables the environmentally friendly recovery of the rare earth element europium from e-waste like discarded fluorescent lamps.

Safety and security at ETH Zurich: New e-learning module

The rollout of the e-learning module “Safety and Security at ETH Zurich” will begin tomorrow. This module teaches the basics of occupational safety and health in everyday life at ETH, as well as how to behave in the event of an incident. The Executive Board strongly recommends that all ETH members complete the module.
