Robert Finger becomes Fellow of the European Association of Agricultural Economists (EAAE)
Robert Finger, Professor of Agricultural Economics and Policy and?Chair of the World Food System Center at ETH Zurich, has been awarded the Fellowship Award by the European Association of Agricultural Economists (EAAE). The fellow membership is the highest distinction awarded by the association.
Professor Finger's research lies at the intersection of agricultural science and economics, aiming to improve the resilience and sustainability of agricultural and food systems. His work focuses on farm-level decisions and their connections with the environment, markets, society, and policy, particularly in the context of European agriculture.
Award for interdisciplinary agricultural economics
“This distinction recognises his outstanding contributions to the advancement of agricultural economics in Europe and your dedicated efforts in strengthening the EAAE as the leading professional association for European agricultural economists,” writes the association.
Finger’s interdisciplinary research provides valuable input for decision-making in agricultural policy, on farms, and in upstream and downstream industries. His wide-ranging research covers various topics related to agricultural practices and systems, particularly the evaluation and design of agricultural policies, as well as the economics of pest and risk management.
Robert Finger is the youngest ever Fellow of the EAAE. Over 1,000 people attended the award ceremony during the association's congress.
