Online application

You apply on Mobility-Online.

  • Authenticate yourself with your ETH login.
  • Fill out the form.
  • Select up to 10 priorities (i.e. partner universities whose exchange places you want to apply for).
  • Sent the form.
  • Follow the instructions emailed to you. You have successfully registered on Mobility-Online. (If you do not receive an email, your submission was not successful. Try again.)

From now on, always log in Mobility-Online via the green "Login ETH-Outgoings & Staff" button.

After logging in, you will see all the required steps in the workflow.

  • Complete each step by clicking the link on the right-hand side under "Direct access via the following link."
  • Upload the necessary documents at the relevant step. (Per step, you can upload only one document at a time. To upload several documents, you must make several uploads.)
  • Submit your application by confirming the terms and conditions (workflow step).
  • You will receive an automatic confirmation of receipt by email. (If you do not receive this email, your application has not been successfully submitted. Try again.)

Decision

  • The Student Exchange Office and your department will now check your application formally and academically. This may take a few weeks.
  • You will receive the decision by email.
  • If the decision is favourable, the host university will inform you how to register.
  • Depending on the time of registration, it may no longer be possible to enrol on the exchange programme. In such a case, the host university will find an alternative status for you, which does not necessarily involve enrolment and the corresponding services for students.

Withdrawal of the application or cancellation of the stay

  • Inform the Student Exchange Office immediately if you do not wish to start your stay or wish to cancel it early.
  • If you withdraw from the scholarship without a sufficient reason, you may be barred from participating in future exchange opportunities. (Examples of sufficient reasons are: Illness, accident, massive drop in performance during studies.)
  • In the event of cancellation, you must immediately repay all payments made to you.
